The recent 78th Members Meeting brought to a conclusion for 2021 the successful return to motorsport events for all at Goodwood.
With a deliberately reduced crowd in numbers, with its own GRRC members having first pick before the remaining few tickets are offered for public sale, access to almost all areas meant there was very little crowding anywhere around the site.
The other feature of the meeting is that it is not constrained to a particular window of time, like the Revival is, so unusual demonstrations and races clearly not run during the track's original operating period can be run, like the Gerry Marshall Trophy for Group A touring car machinery, or the S.F.Edge Trophy for Edwardian period cars.
Highlights amongst the demonstrations included watching and listening to Bruno Senna given his Uncle's McLaren MP4/6, Bruno not being afraid to pressing the "VERY" loud pedal all around this very 1960's style circuit, and watching a rolling history of the designs of Gordon Murray from clubmans to Formula 1 with Brabham, through to his latest design, the T50, with Dario Franchitti at the wheel.
Normally run at the start of the racing season, the meeting this year felt different with an end of season autumnal atmosphere, but still felt very special given the effects of the pandemic on us all.
