British GT - What we know so far

With announcements coming thick and fast over the last few days, we thought we would share what we know so far with regards teams and drivers.

2017 GT3 Runners-up Barwell Motorsport are expanding their squad of Lamborghini Huracans. They are keeping Jon Minshaw & Phil Keen who are hoping to go one better in 2018. The other cars will be driven by Jonny Cocker & Sam De Haan with Patrick Kujala & Leo Machitski.

Optimum Motorsport move back into GT3 from GT4 with 2017 GTE Le Mans winner Jonny Adam sharing the driving with Flick Haigh in an Aston Martin V12 GT3.

2016 GT3 Champions TF Sport are continuing with their Aston Martin Vantage V12 GT3 but have new pairings for the upcoming season. Nicki Thiim is joining Mark Farmer while Marco Sorensen joins Derek Johnstone.

Reigning GT4 Champions HHC Motorsport are keeping with their Ginetta G55 GT4 and are adding another G55 to the squad for 2018. These will be driven by Callum Pointon & Patrick Matthiesen and Will Burns (from the BTCC) & Mike Newbold.

FOX Motorsport are returning to the championship proper after two years away (apart from the odd appearance) and will be running the brand new Mercedes AMG GT4 with Mark Murfitt & Michael Broadhurst behind the wheel.

UltraTek Racing Team RJN are continuing with a pair of Nissan GT4's and pairing up Martin Plowman & Kelvin Fletcher both who raced with the team last year. They are still yet to announce the paring of the second Nissan.

Invictus Racing Team are joining the GT4 ranks with a pair of Jaguar F-Type SVR GT4s. This is a new team for injured, wounded and sick British Armed Forces veterans. Matthew George will be joined by Steve McCulley (Royal Marines) and Paul Vice MC (Royal Marines Commando) and the other Jaguar will be driven by Jason Wolfe with Ben Norfolk (RAF Sergeant) and Basil Rawlinson (Parachute Regiment).

More will be announced over the next few days or weeks ready for Media Day prior to the season starting at Oulton Park over the Easter Weekend 31st March - 2nd April.
