Daniel Rowbottom claims second career win at Thruxton

Dan Rowbottom claims victory at the Hampshire circuit to claim his second ever win in the British Touring Car Championship.



Race Three:


Adam Morgan flies away from the line in pole position in front of Aiden Moffat and Ricky Collard who start slower than the rear wheel drive BMW.


George Gamble skips the chicane at the end of the first lap and falls down the order to continue his torrid weekend.


Daniel Rowbottom charges past Collard, and the two continue to battle and change positions all the way around lap 4 of the 16.


Moffat still sits in second acting as the cork in the bottle for the train of hungry British Touring Cars behind him.

Adam Morgan has disappeared off into the distance with a 3.5 second gap back to Aiden Moffat in second who's still defending for his life from the NAPA Ford of Rowbottom.


Rowbottom surprises Moffat in the middle of the complex with a Rickard Rydell style over under move to go second and take over the chase of Morgan in the BMW.


Aron Taylor-Smith is sandwiched between the two Toyota's of Rory Butcher and Ricky Collard and is left to fight with the trailing Butcher on lap 7 of 16.

Josh Cook sets the fastest lap of the day in 11th.


Rowbottom gains 0.600s on lap 9 of 16 on Morgan, pushing the Ford right into the bumper of the BMW in front.


Rowbottom leads round 12 of the championship at Thruxton after he passes Morgan at the entry to church corner.


Morgan is given a track limits warning on lap 12 as the BMW driver pushes hard to regain his lead back from the NAPA Ford.

Tom Chilton retires to the pit lane with just 2 laps to go after a major spin at Allard corner.


Jade Edwards, for the second time today, retires the car with mechanical issues on the penaltimate lap of the race.


Jake Hill and Dan Cammish go side by side on lap 15, Allowing Tom Ingram in the Hyundai through once the fighting settles down.


Rowbottom comes home as the race three victor, with Morgan and Moffat rounding out the top three.
