ELMS: 4 Hours of Spa ends with United Autosports first win
This weekend’s installment of the European Le Mans series ended with a win for the British outfit of United Autosports in the flagship LMP2 category, a first since Portimao in 2021. A strong result in the round for Prema Racing in third position ensures that they continue to lead Panis Racing as ELMS comes to a close in Portugal at the 4 Hours of Portimao. United took great advantage of the pace of their three drivers in the Oreca 07 to make a fantastic start from fourth on the grid, eventually finishing 25 seconds ahead of the second placed Europol Competition.
The LMP2 race was again a successful one for the Polish Inter Europol Competition, in the #13 Ligier, with Cool Racing once again coming up short to Inter Europol who hold a 19 point lead.
In the final classification, LMGTE, a first win of the season arose for Kessel Racing, driving the Ferrari 448 GTE that won in Belgium in the equivalent FIA WEC race earlier this year, who now enter the final round of the competition only nine points behind the leaders Proton Competition, winners last time out in Barcelona.
ELMS continues on the weekend of the 14 October for its closing round in Portugal, where Prema and Panis Racing will come to blows for the LMP2 Trophy.
