Le Mans 2015 GT class preview

The GTE (Grand Touring Endurance) class is for two-door production sports cars powered by a manufacturer with a dealer network.

In regards to specifications, engine size for the GT cars is limited to 5.5L for non-turbo and 4L for turbo-charged engines, and the car must weight over 1245kg with 90L fuel capacity.

The class is effectively split into two subcategories with Pro and Am. The Pro class is to be contested in by professional drivers with Gold FIA licences and above, where the Am class must contain at least one bronze driver and either another bronze or silver driver.

This year sees 23 entries across these two classes with cars from Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, Corvette and the return of the Viper.


The 83rd Running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place on June 13-14, 2015.
